Position Summary/Job Description

We are looking for a bright and motivated data analyst to join our growing Data Science team and help build the next generation of Seismos technology and products. You will be part of a cross-functional and passionate Data Science group that supports the ongoing projects by governing, organizing, and analyzing data.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Primary job responsibilities include understanding the business requirements, building data analysis workflows, and creating intuitive and insightful business reports. The responsibilities include:
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the requirements of each project
  • Establish data governance and data quality assurance practices
  • Build effective workflows for data analysis and visualization to support other team members
  • Support the ongoing product development efforts

 

Education & Experience (knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or STEM majors from an accredited university (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Hands-on experience working with large datasets, including cleaning, transformation, statistical analysis, and data visualization
  • Effective team building and problem-solving abilities
  • +5 years of experience programming with Python (knowledge of R and JavaScript is a plus)
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL language
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules and assignments
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (MS Azure, AWS, GCP) and MemSQL is a plus.

 

Work Environment & Travel

  • Standard office environment
  • Occasional travel to conferences, client meetings, remote team meetings (< 30%).
